If you’ve been told that there’s no right or wrong time to apply your skincare products as long as you are applying them, then we are sorry to break this to you, but it is not true. The reason why night creams are applied at night is because the ingredients in them react to the rays of the sun.
That being said, all other products in your skincare routine also have a designated hour of the day and applying them during that time will give you better results. Here’s a skincare timetable you should follow every day to ensure your skin is getting the benefits of all the products you have invested in.
- 9 AM – Soothing gel
- 10 AM – Moisturiser + sunscreen
- 12 PM – Face mist
- 2 PM – Sunscreen
- 4 PM – Moisturiser
- 9 PM to 11 PM – Night cream and eye cream
9 AM – Soothing gel

After your morning run or sweat session at the gym, the pores of your skin open to flush out all the toxins along with sweat. A soothing gel will calm your skin and prepare it for the day ahead. After cleaning your face apply the Lakme 9 To 5 Naturale Aloe Aqua Gel evenly to soothe and hydrate the skin.
10 AM – Moisturiser + sunscreen

Post bath and breakfast, as you prepare to leave for work or college, apply a moisturiser that is suitable for your skin type. Wait for a few minutes and follow it up with a sunscreen with minimum SPF value of 30, we suggest the Ponds Sun Protect Non-Oily Sunscreen SPF 50. It will protect your skin from the UV rays when you step out. Make sure you apply the sunscreen 15 to 30 minutes before stepping out.
12 PM – Face mist

The air conditioner can make your skin feel dry and dehydrated. Instead of layering your face up with powder, carry a face mist in your bag and spritz some to feel refreshed instantly.
2 PM – Sunscreen

Applying sunscreen is important but so is reapplication. If you want to keep your skin protected all-day, focus on reapplication of sunscreen. Even if you don’t step out in the sun, it is essential to take a coin-sized amount of the Ponds Sun Protect Non-Oily Sunscreen SPF 50 and apply all over your face and neck.
4 PM – Moisturiser

Even if your skin is on the oilier side, your skin will thank you for moisturising it again. Why? Because then it doesn’t have to work overtime and produce excess oil. Therefore instead of spending money on blotting sheets carry your moisturiser and reapply it.
9 PM to 11 PM – Night cream and eye cream

You can start your nighttime skincare routine any time between 9 PM and 11 PM, depending on what time you get home. After cleansing, toning and moisturising wait for some time to start applying other products. A serum will be ideal to use at this time as it absorbs quickly, is more concentrated and works better at night. The Lakme Absolute Ideal Tone Refinishing Night Concentrate targets common skin problem to improve the colour and texture of your skin. Follow it up with Lakme Absolute Argan Oil Radiance Night Revival Eye Cream before going to bed at night.
