Having poker-straight hair is a dream for many girls, but only those of us who have it know what a struggle it is. Since this hair type usually falls flat, it can end up making your face appear wider than it is. But you can easily avoid this by adding some texture and dimension to your tresses. How do you that? Here are five simple ways to add texture to fine, straight hair without breaking into a sweat.
- 01. Try a sea-salt texture spray
- 02. Use a hair pomade
- 03. Dry shampoo to the rescue
- 04. Use a thickening product
- 05. Try braiding
01. Try a sea-salt texture spray

Sea salt sprays are highly underrated, but they are such a great way to add some heatless beach waves to straight hair when used right. Simply spray on some of the sea salt spray from root to tip on damp hair and scrunch the ends to achieve quick waves that last all day long.
02. Use a hair pomade

Another great way to add some texture to straight hair is to use a hair pomade. This works similar to the sea salt texturising spray but has a slightly more matte finish. Start by taking a coin-sized amount for medium to long hair and rubbing it between your palms to warm it up just a bit. Next, apply this from mid-length to the ends and scrunch as you go to add oodles of texture and movement to your mane.

03. Dry shampoo to the rescue

Dry shampoo is one hair styling product that every girl needs on her beauty shelf. Apart from absorbing excess oil and refreshing your strands, this product also adds some bomb texture and volume to straight hair. Simply flip your hair in the front and spray this product all over your hair and scalp, scrunch the ends and leave it at that for an effortless, lived-in hair vibe.

04. Use a thickening product

For those of you with thin and brittle strands, using a thickening hair spray could make a huge difference. Start by spraying a generous amount all over your hair and scrunch the ends. Once your hair is about 60-70% dry, blow dry at the roots to give your hair some lift and prevent them from falling flat during the day.

05. Try braiding

Braiding is an incredible age-hold hairstyling hack to add texture and bounce to straight hair without using heat. Roughly divide damp hair into four sections. Create a braid out of each section and let it stay like that for a couple of hours or overnight. Undo the braids and gently run your fingers along the length to open up the curls for oodles of texture and volume.
